Upcoming DMCA Takedown Workshop
Next week, on May 17, I’ll be joining Kathryn Goldman at the Creative Law Center to help present a workshop on the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) notice-and-takedown system.
The workshop will go through the history of the DMCA, how the takedown process works, how to respond if you receive a DMCA notice and what options are available after a counter notice has been filed.
The hope is that, by the end of the workshop, you’ll have an understanding of how the DMCA process works and the information you need to go through the process yourself without assistance.
The workshop is targeted at creative professionals, in particular those who are either unfamiliar with the DMCA process or have let their skills slide and want a refresher.
To be clear, this is an event being put on by Kathryn and the Creative Law Center. I am serving as a guest. However, I’ve been a guest on similar webinars before with the Creative Law Center and am beyond excited to be doing so again.
That said, membership in the Creative Law Center is NOT a requirement to access this workshop. The fee is $97 and the event is open to the public.
If you’re interested in joining, you can sign up at this link. If you have questions, feel free to contact Kathryn via her contact page.
I hope to see you there, and I’m looking forward to talking about and answering questions regarding what remains one of my favorite topics to discuss.
