It was another crazy week for copyright news. We have another blow to the record labels as unsigned bands now can get royalties too, the Pirate Bay making a push for encrypted networks and, perhaps most important of all, a big with for net neutrality as Comcast takes a blow.
In Flickr news, users raise the alarm about abuse of images via the API and stock photography agency Getty Images starts licensing Flickr images. In international news, BREIN scores a big win against the Dutch ISP Leaseweb and the French government is back on the case, trying to disconnect file sharers from the Web.
Remember, as usual, this week’s linkroll is a “raw” link list. Some stories are duplicated, some do not point to their original sources and some may not be accurate. A great deal of refining goes into producing the show notes for the Copyright 2.0 Show.

Does anyone else find it hilarious that while the RIAA is running around suing users on behalf of the major labels, that things like this exist?

Yep, you got that right. Look at the bottom. It's the Flaming Lips message board, and it is run by or at least is credited to Warner Bros. Records. And if you scroll back up the page, you'll find a bunch of links offering Beck's new album Modern Guilt. Scroll back and forth in the now 105-page thread, and you'll find a lot more major label material that has been offered for free.
You'd think Warner Bros. would police its own sites first.
thanks!
