Copyright 2.0 Show – Episode 299 – Settled Ghosts
It’s Friday again and that means it is time for yet another episode of the Copyright 2.0 Show!
Episode 300 draws near and our announcement about who will be on that show will be on Monday. In the meantime though, we have a lot of copyright news to get through and is a week of endings, of closure.
For one, FilmOnX suffered something of a closure as a judge enjoined it from functioning almost anywhere in the country. In other news the Ghost Rider lawsuit and the To Kill a Mockingbird lawsuits were both settled and even a former member of the Village People is claiming victory in his copyright termination case.
But for those who are sad to see things end, there’s still hope as we have a new lawsuit over aggregation, a tattoo artist who isn’t giving up his fight quietly and reason to believe we’ll be talking about the Dungeons and Dragons case for a long, long time to come.
So whether you long for peace or hope for war, this is a podcast for you!
This week’s stories include:
- FilmOnX Loses big in D.C., Can’t Stream to Most of the Country
- Village People Songwriter Wins Copyright Termination
- Harper Lee Settles To Kill a Mockingbird Lawsuit
- Marvel Settles Ghost Rider Lawsuit
- Moneyweb Sues Fin24 Over Aggregation
- Tattoo Artist Wants More Money for Use of Artwork in Video Game
