Copyright 2.0 Show – Episode 296 – Blurring Lines

It is Friday again and that means that it is time for another episode of the Copyright 2.0 Show.

With the unplanned hiatus, Patrick and I had some catching up to do this week. We had not one, but two weeks worth of news to cover.

This includes the story everyone has been talking about, namely Robin Thicke’s preemptive lawsuit over the song “Blurred Lines”. However, it also includes several less-discussed but equally-important tales including new setbacks for the Jack Kirby estate and CBS coming out ahead in “The Glass House” case.

We also have an update on the Dungeons and Dragons case, a likely conclusion in Green Day’s ongoing battle against a street artist and we watch as Comcast becomes an unwelcome participant in the Prenda Law saga.

Finally, after that and we also take a moment to say goodbye to an important woman in copyright who is stepping down from her job.
