Copyright 2.0 Show – Episode 285 – Killing Aereokiller

FilmOn LogoHow the heck are we supposed to keep up with two companies that share (mostly) the same name and are battling the same opponents in four different jurisdictions? That’s the burning question this week as we work to make sense of the Aereo/Aereokiller happenings.

But there’s even more going on with two big updates to the Prenda Law saga and we even have an update that fan fiction authors are definitely going to want to hear about. Couple that with a story that has me watching two separate videos of talking oranges and it’s safe to say that this has not been a normal podcast.

All in all, it might have been a slower week due to the holiday, but it still turned out to be an episode that you do not want to miss!

This week’s stories include:

  • Prenda Law Gets Out of Three Cases, Including Alan Cooper’s
  • Prenda Lawyer Pleads Poverty and Illness
  • TV Broadcasters Sue Aereokiller in Washington DC
  • Arbitron Sues Radio Broadcaster Over Data Use
  • Supreme Court Declines to Hear Copyright Royalty Board Challenge
  • Kindle Worlds Makes it Possible to Profit from Fan Fiction
  • Advertising Firm Sues Over Annoying Orange Cartoon
