Copyright 2.0 Show – Episode 274 – Opening Strike

It is Friday again and that means that it is time for another episode of the Copyright 2.0 Show.

As the Copyright 2.0 Show gets ready to take a week off due to some travel, the two of us have to rush and try to get caught up on all of the stories from just this past week.

The biggest, and the one on everyone’s mind, is the launch of the “six strikes” system in the U.S. but, in truth, there is so much more. We have Dish Network doing more to rattle the cages of TV networks over Hopper, a study that finds file sharing and piracy is on the decline for music and the rather bizarre reason Germans haven’t been able to watch some of the famous meteorite videos on YouTube.

All in all, this is one odd show that you definitely do not want to miss.

This week’s stories include:

  • Copyright Alert System Launches in U.S.
  • NASCAR Causes Controversy Over Takedown of Crash Video
  • Fox Asks for Injunction Against Latest Versino of Dish’s Hopper
  • Judge Refuses to Prevent CNET from Covering P2P Software
  • Music Piracy on Decline Due to Legitimate Offerings
  • The Pirate Bay Finds New Bandwidth Providers
  • YouTube Blocks Many Meteorite Videos in Germany Over Music Copyrights

You can download the MP3 file here (1:04:36 – direct download). Those interested in subscribing to the show can do so via this feed.
