Copyright 2.0 Show – Episode 271 – DMCA Evasion

Evad3rs LogoIt is Friday again and that means that it is time for another episode of the Copyright 2.0 Show.

And a busy show it is this week. Not only is Patrick reaching a milestone with his site Soda Tasting, but we have a lot of big copyright news as a major DMCA debacle has drawn a great deal of unwanted attention to a researcher, a jailbreak becomes available for iPhone 5 and iOS 6 and Google cuts a deal with French publishers over Google News.

All of that, and we have an update on James Cameron’s Avatar lawsuits and a potential new law in Russia that could slam sites that don’t take down infringing works quickly.

All in all, this is a show that you don’t want to miss!

This week’s stories include:

  • Website Plagiarizes Content, Files DMCA on Original Work
  • iOS 6 Jailbreak Released, iPhone 5 and More Included
  • Google Strikes Deal with French Newspapers
  • James Cameron Wins “Avatar” Lawsuit
  • Russia Considers Fines for Websites with Slow Takedowns
  • EU Changes Tactics on Copyright Reform
