Copyright 2.0 Show – Episode 248 – Trouble in the Ville

The Ville LogoIt is Friday again and that means that it is time for another episode of the Copyright 2.0 Show.

It was an “emergency” episode this week as scheduling conflicts forced us to move the show up a whole day. But honestly, it was a good thing probably because we had so much copyright news, I don’t know how another day’s worth of stories would have fit.

We have EA suing Zynga over “The Ville”, the Ukrainian government moving in on Demonoid and an Appeals court in the U.S. overturning the ban on MyVidster.com. Also, SAP/Oracle reach a deal the the WWE is heading to court, but this time as the defendant.

So grab your Sims and your folding chairs, it’s going to be one bumpy ride!

This week’s stories include:

  • EA Sues Zynga, Claims “The Ville” is a Ripoff of “Sims Social”
  • Demonoid’s Servers Seized
  • Appeals Court Overturns Injunction Against MyVidster
  • SAP/Oracle Reach Settlement to Speed Up Appeal
  • Author’s Guild Seeks Up to $2 Billion from Google
  • ContentID Mishap Results in Rover Footage Being Taken Down
  • Beer Label Designer Sues Yuengling
  • WWE Songwriter Sues for Unpaid Royalties
