The Copyright 2.0 Show has turned 200 and to celebrate we brought on a slew of special guests and good friends to help us ring in the next 100 episodes!

It happened and, amazingly, the universe didn’t explode (or implode) in the process. The Copyright 2.0 Show has reached episode 200.

It was a jam-packed show with a variety of guests including experts in copyright and counterfeiting, attorneys, new media wizards and even my fairy blogmother. We even had an interview with some guy named Chris who claims to have created the Copyright 2.0 Show.

So, while there are no show notes and little actual copyright news being covered, there is a lot of good conversation, retrospective and a great time had by all as Patrick and I bring on a parade of special guests to help us ring in an amazing milestone in our podcast’s history.

Even if you’ve never listened to an episode of the Copyright 2.0 Show before, this is the best time to start because, in addition to the usual hosts, Patrick and myself, in this two-hour episode you also get to hear from:

Chris Mattieu: Founder of Numly and original host of the Copyright 2.0 Show

Dave Tognotti: Vice President of Operations, and General Counsel at Monster Cable Products

Lorelle VanFossen: From Lorelle on WordPress and BitWire Media.

Dave Moyer: From Bitwire Media and the WordCast Podcast.

Sara Hawkins: From Saving for Someday and an IP attorney (not to mention regular show listener).

You can download the MP3 file here (direct download). Those interested in subscribing to the show can do so via this feed.

On that note, a big THANK YOU goes to everyone who participated in this episode and who has ever had ah and in the podcast over the past 200 episodes. Whether you’ve been a listener, submitted links, participated in the chat, been on the show or anything in between, thank you for your support.

Here’s looking forward to another great 100 episodes!

It is Friday again and that means that it is time for another episode of the Copyright 2.0 Show.

After two more weeks away due to Patrick’s trip to SXSW and a lot projects on my end, we’re back with another edition of the copyright 2.0 Show and it is a doozy as we try to catch up on three weeks worth of news. However, lest you think we’re only covering the old news, this week’s biggest story broke literally hours before recording.

However, even with all of the copyright news this week, we set aside some time to talk about Patrick’s SXSW presentation, how he met a mutual friend of ours and just how awesome and unforgettable he really is.

This week’s stories include:

Judge Strikes Down Google Book Search Settlement

The AP Settles Another Fairey-Related Case

Judge Limits Possible LimeWire Damages, Somewhat

Righthaven Loses an Ugly Fair Use Ruling

Eminem May Get More Royalties

And Much, Much More…

It is Friday again and that means that it is time for another episode of the Copyright 2.0 Show.

It was a busy week for copyright news as many of the industry’s biggest dramas slowly ground their way to a conclusion. For one, we are now closer to learning the eventual fate of Limewire, the now endangered file-swapping service, we also get some feedback on Canada’s new copyright law and even a webmaster take on Apple’s new version of Safari.

All in all, it was an action-packed week of copyright news as discussed with the usual lack of decorum that you expect from the Copyright 2.0 Show.

This week’s stories include:

LimeWire Gets a (Short) Reprieve

Canada’s New Draft Law Draws Praise and Criticism

A Surprising Ruling on “Making Available” in the Netherlands

The Ghost Hunters Win a Copyright Case

Is Safari 5 a Copyright-Infringing Machine?

And Many more…

It is Friday again and that means that it is time for another episode of the Copyright 2.0 Show.

It is our second week with our “longer story” format and we have a lot of great news for you. There’s an update to the Global Grind case, a major plagiarism controversy and perhaps the most meta copyright infringement ever.

All delivered with our usual mix if reporting, in-depth discussion and humor. It’s a show that, hopefully, is as entertaining as it is thought-provoking and informative.

This week’s stories include:

Global Grind Stops Scraping

A Plagiarism Controversy Shakes a Major Art Contest

RapidShare Scores a Big Win in Germany

Can You Pirate a Pirate Ship?

The Copyright 2.0 Show will soon have a new home away from home, here's the details on the move.

Some of you may have already caught the announcement on the new WordCast Network site, but for those who didn’t, I want to announce that the Copyright 2.0 Show will be moving to it beginning next week.

This also makes the Copyright 2.0 Show part of the Bitwire Media Network, where it will be in the company of such great podcasts as Best of the Net, Aimless Agenda (which I am also on) and, of course, WordCast.

This means that there will be several changes coming to the Copyright 2.0 show in the next few weeks. All of them, hopefully, for the better.

Different Recording Date: Traditionally we’ve recorded the show on Saturday. But now we will be recording the show on Wednesday at 6PM ET, 3PM PT. If you’re interested in catching it live, you can do so at the main WordCast network site.

New Posting Date Here: Traditionally I’ve posted the show on Monday here but I may start posting it on Friday. This one is up in the air at this moment.

No More Talkshoe: Though we had a good run with Talkshoe and really enjoyed their service. We’ll no longer be recording on Talkshoe or hosting MP3s there. The existing Talkshoe page will likely go down once the content is moved from it.

Everything else should stay the same. The podcast will still be myself and Patrick O’keefe (@ifroggy), it will be an hour-long podcast with the latest copyright news and views with a little bit of humor thrown in along the way.

If you enjoyed the podcast before, you will be getting the same show at a different time on a different network. That’s all.

On that note though, we will be skipping the recording this Saturday and shifting it to Wednesday at the new site. If all goes well, we should not miss a single beat.

Thank you all for your support of the podcast over the years and I’m looking forward to recording the next 100+ episodes!
