Today, I wanted to take a moment and highlight a resource that is available to readers of this site to get free, quick help with individual cases of content theft and plagiarism.

The Performancing Legal Issues Forum is a place to ask questions about a variety of legal issues that impact bloggers including copyright, trademark, privacy, libel, etc.

However, the most commonly used service is the research and strategy-development on individual cases of content theft. On the forum, that is a completely free service, no matter how long it takes to research the case.

As usual, nothing on the forum should be taken as legal advice but it is a great place to ask questions, get quick answers and look through previous answers as well.

I moderate the forums and try to answer all questions within 24 hours and there are at least a couple of attorneys who also stop by and offer their insight from time to time.

It is a great resource that I am proud to be a part of that has not seen a lot of use in recent weeks. So I wanted to remind everyone of its availability.

I’ll see you at the forums if there is anything that I can do.

I wanted to take a quick moment today to remind everyone that the Performancing Legal Issues Forum is still open and accepting legal questions from bloggers and Webmasters. So far, the forum has used to address questions surrounding copyright law, trademark issues and cybersquatting problems among others.

It is a valuable and free resource that I am proud to be a part of. I encourage anyone with legal questions pertaining to blogging to post there, if practical to do so, not only to receive help but help others that might be in a similar position.

Others are free to contact me directly and I will do my best to help you that way.

New and Free Performancing Legal Issues Forum

I’ve teamed up with the editors at Performancing to create a Legal Issues Forum on their site. I am serving as an adviser on that forum, answering legal questions that bloggers may face.

Though the forum is targeted largely at copyright and content theft issues, any and all legal questions that relate to blogging and the Web are welcome. If I do not know the answer, I will use the resources I have to research it and come up with the best answer possible.

If you have a copyright, content theft or other law-related question, feel free to post it there, or as always, you can email me and I will see what I can do. However, I definitely encourage people to take advantage of the forums as A) Other members may be able to help out and B) Your situation may be similar to someone else’s and they can benefit from your experience.

As always, bear in mind that I am not a lawyer and nothing I say should be taken as legal advice.
