It was another busy week for copyright news with a lot of new stories breaking including two interesting lawsuits and a major plagiarism scandal.

Even though it seems as if copyright news was all over the Web this week, the actual number of stories went down compared to the last few weeks, which is good news for me when I go to do the show notes.

However, there was still no shortage of interesting copyright news as a Craigslist griefer gets sued for copyright infringement, a Texas weekly gets accused of rampant plagiarism, a bush aide sues over the move “Swing Vote” and Australian ISPs stand up to the idea of playing copyright cop.

Remember, as usual, this week’s linkroll is a “raw” link list. Some stories are duplicated, some do not point to their original sources and some may not be accurate. A great deal of refining goes into producing the show notes for the Copyright 2.0 Show.Your RSS reader/browser does not support JavaScript, please click through for the full article.

It was another busy week for copyright news with updates to many of the biggest ongoing sagas and a few new tails to begin. This is definitely a week you do not want to miss!

Though this week didn’t break any records, it certainly came close. With 37 stories in the linkroll as of this writing, it is easily one of the busiest weeks I’ve covered in copyright news.

As usual, there are many great stories this week including Scrabulous being reborn, two Oink users going free, Comcast takes a beating from the FCC, Yahoo! Music changes course and The Black Crowes feud with Gretchen Wilson over accusations of plagiarism

Remember, as usual, this week’s linkroll is a “raw” link list. Some stories are duplicated, some do not point to their original sources and some may not be accurate. A great deal of refining goes into producing the show notes for the Copyright 2.0 Show.

It was yet another busy week for copyright news with the new orphan works legislation, big developments on the RIAA front, The Pirate Bay passing a milestone and much, much more.

The “new again” orphan works legislation dominated this week’s copyright news, however, there were still plenty of other stories to cover.

We have multiple tales from the RIAA and their battle against file sharing, news that P2P is no longer the big bandwidth hog, Microsoft destroying DRM keys and a fashion designer suing a charity operation over a drawing of a handbag.

Finally, in weird copyright news, we have Professor Lessig drawing the ire of Rush Limbaugh over his tastes in mashups and watermarked art making its way to the cover of a brand- new Wii game.

Remember, as usual, this week’s linkroll is a “raw” link list. Some stories are duplicated, some do not point to their original sources and some may not be accurate. A great deal of refining goes into producing the show notes for the Copyright 2.0 Show.

It's been another wild week for copyright news. The Village People attempt to compete for the dumbest DMCA notice ever, Demonoid comes back and the debate over net filtering gets hotters than ever.

It has been another crazy week for copyright news. We have a new candidate for the most insane DMCA notice, more setbacks for copyright holders seeking Internet filters and even a couple of potential plagiarism scandals.

Also on the radar is a series of net neutrality related news items with ISPs standing up to major copyright holders that try to disconnect their customers and the return of one of the most famous bittorrent trackers. .

Finally, in strange news, we have the discovery that even tossing a CD out into the trash could be a form of “unauthorized distribution”, making DJs across the world invest in a shredding device.

Remember, as usual, this week’s linkroll is a “raw” link list. Some stories are duplicated, some do not point to their original sources and some may not be accurate. A great deal of refining goes into producing the show notes for the Copyright 2.0 Show.

It has been another busy week for copyright news and, this time around, we tour the world in just a few short links with still more game-changing copyright news.

There is a global flare to this week’s copyright news as our stories take us to Germany, Sweden, Iceland, Australia, Canada, the United States, United Kingdom and Israel. It was a full week with a great deal of news about bittorrent trackers, Blu-ray cracking, potential ISP bannings and even some free eBooks.

Of course, as always, that’s just part of the news. We also have our usual assortment of strange news, including porn star Ron Jeremy weighing in on copyright matters, “all you can eat” iPods and even a few heads shaved in the name of Mac.

Remember, as usual, this week’s linkroll is a “raw” link list. Some stories are duplicated, some do not point to their original sources and some may not be accurate. A great deal of refining goes into producing the show notes for the Copyright 2.0 Show.

Note: I am moving both the linkrolls and the show notes over to Diigo to make the process easier and more consistent. If you have any issues or comments, please let me know!
From updates to the Viacom case to major news on the RIAA front, both in and out of the courtroom, a critical chapter in copyright history is being written right now.

Of course, as always, that’s just part of the news. We also have our usual assortment of strange news, including comedian and magician Penn Jillette weighing in on copyright matters, a now-famous escort claiming infringement over her photos and the now famous “IFPI Bump”.
