It was another wild week for copyright news with stories from all across the globe. This week, we hear more from J.K. Rowling, The Pirate Bay, the IFPI, Comcast and even Yoko Ono.

It is a very special episode of the Copyright 2.0 Show as we have an interview with Patrick O’keefe, the owner of the iFroggy Network and the author of the new book “Managing Online Forums“. He graciously sat down with us for the first thirty minutes and told us about the book and about managing legal and copyright issues when dealing with online communities.

In addition to that, we had a shortened version of the news, 12 stories in all. including news about J.K. Rowling, The Pirate Bay and even Yoko Ono.

So, to help me sense of it all, I sat down with Chris Matthieu from Numly and we tore through the week’s copyright happenings with our usual mix of news, views and abuse.

This week’s stories include:

J.K. Rowling Meets a Fan in Court

Facebook Gives Away Key Witness in The Pirate Bay Trial

Cindy Mcain, Lonely Planet and Fox News all Hammered by Plagiarism Allegations

Assassin’s Creed Kills Itself with Bad DRM

Yoko Ono Goes After the Movie “Expelled”

And Many more…

You can download the MP3 file here (direct download). Those interested in subscribing to the show can do so via this feed.

Let us know what you think of the interview segment and if we should do more of these in the future!

It has been another full week for copyright news with J.K. Rowling heading to court against one of fans, a slew of RIAA news and even an appearance by Yoko Ono.

It was yet another busy week for copyright news with the music industry taking the spotlight in several cases, new services working to deliver music and video on demand, at least in the United States and Canada and Harry Potter’s author heading to court against one of her own fans.

We also have several new revelations from The Pirate Bay, including a new blogging service and new information about their case in Sweden, a plagiarism scandal at Lonely Planet and a duel between Yoko Ono and the movie “Expelled”.

Finally, in weird copyright news, we have an update to our story about the “plagiarizing” chef and a case where the RIAA sued a homeless man for infringement.

Remember, as usual, this week’s linkroll is a “raw” link list. Some stories are duplicated, some do not point to their original sources and some may not be accurate. A great deal of refining goes into producing the show notes for the Copyright 2.0 Show.
