Diane: No, that is the result of editing the title in a panic thirty seconds before it is supposed to go live. Proof that no amount of spell checking can save you from the pressures of deadlines and your own stupidity.

Regarding your case though, I have a lot of questions for you about it but really can't discuss it here as I don't want to risk giving any spammers or junk content link. If you want, email me some of the URLs involved and I'll see what I can do. There may be ways around this.

I'll gladly help in any way that I can!

Jonathan, thanks for the draft letter. I'll post a link on both my blogs to it. Draft letters are always good because many people won't write even though they think the issue is important. A draft makes it easy for them to have their voice heard. Keep fighting the good fight.

Furstration ? Is that a new word?
I'm going through the head banging now. Thanks for this site. 1 and 1 told me
"We are in receipt of your letter regarding the above-mentioned URLs.

1&1 is an Internet service provider, and is not responsible for and does
not exercise any control over the use of customer domain names or the
content of its customers? websites.

Given the nature of your complaint, 1&1 has forwarded your
correspondence to the owner of the above domain name."

OOOOOKAY This little bit of fun involved some 30 identical content web sites (other than the domain name) sold to a whole bunch of rather naive people. Only one page was stolen from my work. The rest were stolen from other people. I can't remember how many different hosts are involved. 10? Some pages owners reachable, some "he said it was legal so I'm keeping it" etc etc (That one was at the wrong host to try that approach). It has been an education.

Will: I'm sorry to hear about your frustrations but I definitely understand. However, try to have some hope, help is on the way. However, you are right that, without hosts getting serious about these issues, not much is going to change. Of course, if the search engines got more serious about it, the whole issue would be moot anyway, no point in scraping if it won't work.

Sometimes it can feel like you're the only one who cares. So yeah, I understand the venting.

Let me know if I can help.
