Linkblogging and PlagiarismToday

By Jonathan Bailey • Dec 2nd, 2007 • Category: Articles, Housekeeping, News

Chris and I finished recording another episode of the Copyright 2.0 Show this morning. Though I am sure it will be another instant hit destined to rise to number one on the Billboard charts, it left me with a bit of a pickle.
When I opened up my link bucket to start hammering out the show [...]

Site Down Time

By Jonathan Bailey • Dec 1st, 2007 • Category: Articles, Housekeeping

As some may have noticed, Plagiarism Today was down most of yesterday evening on into the early morning. This was caused by an extensive upgrade at my host that required multiple hours of downtime.
Though I was aware of this outage before it took place, it was not anticipated to take as long as it did. [...]

Updates to “Stopping Internet Plagiarism” Series

By Jonathan Bailey • Nov 27th, 2007 • Category: Articles, Housekeeping

I’ve noted for some time that the “Stopping Internet Plagiarism” series on the site has fallen into grave disrepair. For example, the instructions for finding the host referenced a service that has not been operation for almost a year and offered complicated instructions when easier tools were available.
So, I’ve started taking some time to rewrite [...]

Housekeeping: New Contact Form and MyBlogLog

By Jonathan Bailey • Nov 23rd, 2007 • Category: Articles, Housekeeping

With the holiday causing traffic to the site to taper off significantly, I took the opportunity to make some minor upgrades to site.
First, I modified the "Contact Plagiarism Today" page to use a new, much more simple, form. The form is still CAPTCHA protected, at least to a degree, but doesn’t require all of the [...]

Housekeeping: Site Improvements

By Jonathan Bailey • Nov 7th, 2007 • Category: Articles, Housekeeping

Just a heads up to everyone that I took time out yesterday to make some improvements to PT that will, hopefully, cause it to load faster and work better.
First, I installed WP Super Cache to create static pages for most of the site. Those of you who are logged in or post comments to the [...]

Limited Posting Next Two Weeks

By Jonathan Bailey • Oct 16th, 2007 • Category: Articles, Housekeeping

I just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up that posting may be somewhat limited these next two weeks.
We are coming upon the end of October and my haunted house opens Saturday the 27th. There is a lot of work left to do so email and site work might take a back seat for [...]

Copyright 2.0 Show Delayed

By Jonathan Bailey • Oct 1st, 2007 • Category: Articles, Housekeeping

I wanted to post a quick note to let everyone know that Episode 26 of the Copyright 2.0 Show is going to be delayed just a bit today. We’re having some technical issues with the Copyright20.com server and, since it is where I get my copies of the file, I can’t access it this morning.
If [...]

Updates to DMCA Contact List

By Jonathan Bailey • Sep 26th, 2007 • Category: Articles, DMCA, Housekeeping, Legal Issues

I’ve done several updates to the DMCA Contact Information list, mainly adding companies that I’ve either gotten information from or have profiled in the “DMCA Seven” series but never added tot his list.
The companies added include Mahalo, Squidoo (special request), Zooomr, Break and about six other sites.
Also, I did a quick dead link check on [...]

Housekeeping: Upgrade to Wordpress 2.3

By Jonathan Bailey • Sep 26th, 2007 • Category: Articles, Housekeeping

Just a quick note to let everyone know I spent part of the morning upgrading Plagiarism Today to Wordpress 2.3.
Please let me know if you see any problems with the site. I also upgraded about half a dozen plugins that I use so please alert me to any spontaneous combustions, plane crashes or other [...]

Updated About the Author Page

By Jonathan Bailey • Sep 7th, 2007 • Category: Articles, Housekeeping

Just a quick heads up to let everyone know I’ve updated the “About the Author” page on the site with some reworked text and a photo.
In case anyone is wondering, the photo was taken by my wife, a photographer, at the Algier’s ferry terminal here in New Orleans. In the background is part of downtown [...]
