Copyright 2.0 Show – Episode 297 – Picking Battles

Chess ImageIt is Friday again and that means that it is time for another episode of the Copyright 2.0 Show.

Though the holiday weekend looms large here in the U.S., there’s still a lot of copyright news to go through so Patric and I try to make the most of it and jump right in.

For one, an Australian record label may be realizing it picked a fight with the wrong person. SiriusXM faces still more headaches over royalties and pre-1972 sound recordings and the tactical fight between TV broadcasters and Aereo/FilmOnX continues with a renewed push on in Washington DC.

If that’s not enough for you, we also have updates on the “Blurred Lines” lawsuit, Grooveshark signing a potentially major deal and a Russian MP3 site that shut down, taking its customers’ money with it.

All of that and more on this, Episode 297 of the Copyright 2.0 Show! Safe travels everyone!

(Note: Due to a tech issue, the audio had to be pulled from the YouTube version of the podcast, meaning it is of a lower quality than usual. Our apologies for the sound quality.)

This week’s stories include:

  • Lawrence Lessig Sues Australian Record Label of Questionable DMCA Takedown
