I pretty much have to agree with you that this is aimed squarely at a niche market that would want to exploit the ad revenue but, like you, I prefer to format and attribute posts myself both to make the attribution more clear and to try and help the original site as much as possible.Still, I think within their niche, they have a very good product with just a few flaws they seem to be working on…

Yuck! You are right; I can't see it catching on for quotes. I never copy whole articles or even significant portions of them—only quotes for use in my own work. There's no way I would ever use the Embed Article code since it includes an ad and doesn't let me format things.In fact, when I format links, I try to help the source site by using appropriate anchor text for my link. That's good for the source site's SEO. You can't do that with Embed Article.On the other hand, this service could find a niche for certain content providers, particularly larger media sites that see a lot of their articles copied into blog posts. Some less technical and less savvy bloggers (who don't understand the need for or methods of attribution and who don't want to have formatting issues pop up) might find the service useful when they copy text from these media outlets.
