While copyright theft is bad in degrees ranging from unfortunate to evil.... Getty is 100% pure evil 24/7.

I personally will never in this lifetime do anything that results in Getty receiving one penny, whether is my own, or even if it is someone else's penny.

If they make even one bullshit move with stock.XCHNG I'll run so fast and so far it'll be like a road runner cartoon. In fact, if I find an alternative, I'll avoid this too, god forbid I accindentially click a google ad on their site or something.

I just tried to log into sxc after spending 8 months away, and now find that my account information (password) isn’t recognised, and my email address is no longer listed on their records. This is very annoying as I’ve received several emails from sxc in the past confirming my account information.

Now I have to start again, and cannot claim my previously-posted images. I will be looking into alternatives.

I have around 500 pictures published in sxc. I’m free software user, then i love sxc’s spirit!
But all changed now, after Getty buy sxc the problems appear:
1.- They migrated to Canadian server all the site, and the new server was very very slow at the beginning.
2.- The consequence is that sxc.hu is not a useful website.
3.- Since august 6th i can’t open sxc, it dissapeared!

I’m really worried about this matter
Of course I don’t like changes, Getty is just cutting the sxc traffic now a days. I would like everybody remember the great uploaders efforts to make better SXC website. I honestly think Getty have not a good behaviour with us.

Can anyone see the sxc website?

Looking at the numbers that SC promotes on their front page it does look as if they've lost some work but only a few hundred out of the the 400,000 plus. It may not be a user revolt but it does show that some are not happy.

I guess we'll see. This might not be so much a rebellion but temporary difficulties due to the transition (I'm sure they moved the site to Getty's servers). The tin foil hat theory would say they are crippling lucrative searches on SXC to push people to buy photos.

I don't see any evidence of that, but it would make a great conspiracy theory...

I've already noticed a difference in the amount and quality of stock on the site. Doing a basic search for something as simple as job interview yields no SXC results, only iStock. Maybe people are yanking their stock off the site or they've had a weed but it seems like it's only there as a feed for iStock.

Plus they've taken off all references to StockXpert, which I quite liked. I hope Getty don't kill the free site.
