Copyright News Links – 01-24-09
By Jonathan Bailey • Jan 24th, 2009 • Category: Articles, Linkblog
It has been a hectic week for copyright law and a very good week for the pirates with news both domestic and abroad favoring file sharers both in and out of the courts.
First, we have an important ruling in an RIAA lawsuit, pirates getting funding in Sweden, Oink downloaders getting sentenced to community service and much more. In strange copyright news, we have a potentially infringing game for the iPhone, an update on the Colbert remix “challenge” and perhaps the strangest, and saddest, use of DRM ever.
Remember, as usual, this week’s linkroll is a “raw” link list. Some stories are duplicated, some do not point to their original sources and some may not be accurate. A great deal of refining goes into producing the show notes for the Copyright 2.0 Show.
