I have forwaded my DMCA complaint to Hostgator and have posted a complaint to Google via postal mail as well. Hostgator seems to be responsible for hosting many splog sites. Looking forward to seeing many sites suspended if this is the case.

[...] I was going to write about this today, but Googling for similar pages shows it’s been well discussed by Plagiarism Today here and here months ago. I am convinced that spammers’ use of Technorati is mainly to blame for problems I’ve been having. Specifically I blame the tagging feature. [...]

Thank you for your blog and this highly informative post. I was recently the 'victim' of plagiarism and took action against the site that stole my content with it's ISP, HostGator. HostGator immediately (over Memorial Weekend, no less) took action to have my content removed and even asked if I wanted them to suspend the site. For reasons I won't get into here, I left that decision up to them, but I was very heartened to see the speedy action.

Keep up the great work!

Hi, just wanted to say thanks for the brilliant article. Nicely writen and provided some good links about spam commenting. It's an interesting problem, that as a coder, I would love to tackle.
