If I work for a company and have not signed a contract that states that the work I do is for the company and any idea, document, ect. is the sole property of the company. and I find out that someone in the company copied my work as their own. And no credit was given to the actual document creator. Do I have any legal course that I can take. My document was made and dated as of 4-08 and the document that has my copied work was created in 10-08. I feel that I should be able to take legal action against the company for allowing it but I should also be able to go after the person who copied my work.
I have looked around but I can't find any information on this. Can you help guide me to where I need to be looking. My thought is that Plagiarism is against the law and people who can prove that thay have been a victom of this should be able to take action. It's the only way it will stop.
